The Humpback and Bryde whales, penguins, Cape seals, seabirds, and dolphin pods all make Walker Bay their home at this time. Restaurants like Bientang's Cave Restaurant are popular spots to have a meal while watching for these incredible creatures.

Westcliff, one of the well-liked coastal communities near the new harbour, is home to both prestige, upmarket properties as well as more affordable, seafront homes. You can discover top-notch dining establishments in the new harbour and watch the neighbourhood fishermen at work as they unload their fresh catch on the pier. The Westcliff shoreline has some of the best fishing areas, where fish like Red Roman, Steenbras, Galjoen, and Cob will nibble on your line.

Pieters herded cattle from Caledon to the seaside during the summer months since there was good grass and fresh water there. Eventually, the rest of the rural community made it their new resort town.
