If you are visiting the area then a trip to the Howick Falls is a must, it has a viewing platform and there is also a gorge walk with breathtaking views of the falls. The waterfall is 95m high and is the second tallest waterfall in South Africa and home to the Crowned Eagle.

Midmar is a popular destination on the Midlands Meander. It provides a peaceful respite with its large tracts of grassland, wonderful birdlife, and open water.
