#CleanYourHood Campaign

The #CleanYourHood campaign was launched in June 2017. Its focus is on getting Capetonians to do what they can to keep their neighbourhoods clean.

Even though Cape Town is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world, one of its major challenges is combating littering and dumping, particularly in its more disadvantaged communities.

So far, with the support of Peninsula Beverages, prizes have been offered to residents and organisations that have gotten involved in the campaign in the form of vouchers for cleaning tools and gardening items.

As a result, communities all over Cape Town have begun cleaning up, painting, gardening and implementing community projects.

Nedbank is now taking action by offering free tickets to the Nedbank Cup finals to the first 10 000 volunteers to arrive at clean-up efforts that will be held at various beaches around the city. Tickets will be handed out to the first 10 000 volunteers, along with a goodie bag and a t-shirt.

Five of the city's beaches have already been cleaned up for the campaign including Strand over the weekend. The campaign then moved to the Liesbeek Park River.

On Sunday another clean-up was held at the Hout Bay Mariner Wharf which then moved to Lions Head.
