Winter is upon us and there’s nothing like a good old fashioned cup of hot chocolate to warm up and get cozy. Try out this perfect hot chocolate recipe for two and add a little pop of flavour if you’re feeling fancy!
Ingredients:
200ml cream
200ml milk
200g chopped chocolate
What to do:
1. Over a double boiler, melt the chocolate pieces, remove from the heat and stir gently until the mixture is silky. (Add more chocolate if the mixture is too thin, more milk if it is too thick)
2.Heat the milk & cream to just before boiling point. While heating, spoon 3-4 Tbsp melted chocolate into each of your two mugs
3. Divide the heated milk & cream mixture into each mug
Getting Fancy!
For an extra pop of flavour -
Add any of any of the following while warming your milk & cream mixture. Remember to sieve it if you are adding any solids. Measurements below are a guide and can be adjusted to taste.
· ½ tsp orange essence
· ½ tsp Chilli flakes
· 4 cardamom pods (cracked open)
· 1 tbs Nutella
· ½ tsp peppermint extract
· 1 shotkahlua
· 1 shot espresso
· 1 tbs peanut butter
