Kirstenbosch's Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway, also known as The Boomslang, is a curved bridge that winds its way through and over the majestic trees of the Arboretum.
Development of The Boomslang started in 2013 to mark the centenary of Kirstenbosch Gardens. It opened to the public in 2014.
The Walkway takes visitors from the forest floor, through the trees and out above the canopy, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and Garden. It is 130m long and gets as high as 12m above the ground.
It is recommended that you start your walk early so that you can enjoy breakfast at one of Kirstenbosch's restaurants or coffee shops.
This family-friendly activity is simply a must-do for all nature lovers and birdwatchers.
