The Montebello Design Centre is a creative project that supports local art, craft & design.
The centre itself, located in Newlands, has over twenty arts and craft studios and workshops, a greenhouse and nursery, a forge, and a restaurant and organic deli farm shop.
Montebello Design Centre is home to a wide variety of designers and artists, including jewellers, painters, publishers, designers, filmmakers and landscapers.
Montebello is also responsible for an outreach programme called PROD - Product Development, Research, Opportunity Development Programme, which consists of the following ongoing projects: product development, training and marketing assistance in ceramics, textiles, weaving, bead, wire, tin and paper work; the Port Jackson project making furniture and fencing; and the 'work from waste' project.
There is a craft shop on site that sells items made from recycled glass, fabric, metal paper and alien vegetation.
The Farm Kitchen Table serves healthy fresh, local food incorporating organic vegetables grown by the project.
The Greenhouse Nursery offers personal service and helpful advice and has a wide selection of plants and wrought iron work for sale.
