Saddle up to spend the day at Imhoff Farm

Kommetjie is a beautiful area in the Western Cape that is known for its perfect waves and holiday vibes. It's an ideal town to raise a family, retire in or simply invest in to lead a peaceful way of life. There are endless ways to relax and unwind in Kommetjie, with Imhoff Farm being one of the best.

A legacy of farming

Imhoff Farm is one of the oldest farms in the Cape Peninsula. Dating back to 1743, you can expect to be immersed in the rich heritage and early culture of the first farmers who occupied this land. The farm has been restored to its former glory and certainly modernised to make the most of its appeal. This versatile venue offers something for everyone to do and it's easy to see why it has become a must-visit among locals and tourists.

The farm is run by members of the Van der Horst family who have worked on restoring it over the past 50 years. Imhoff Farm's goal is to become a self-sustainable operation that contributes to the prosperity of the community of Kommetjie.

Venture into the vineyard

Imhoff Farm's vineyard is certainly one of the most unique in the world. Located a short distance away from the World Heritage Site of Cape Point, the vineyard blends the aesthetics of the beach, mountains and the sea. It was established in 2019 and continues to be a major drawcard for wine enthusiasts. The vineyard's location means it is the ideal place for quality wines of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties. The coastal setting provides the vines with the perfect environment in which to thrive and gives the wine its distinct flavours. Spanning 2 hectares, the vineyard is closely monitored and cultivated to ensure fantastic harvests year after year.

Adventure awaits!

Imhoff Farm provides numerous activities for people of all ages and tastes to enjoy. One of the most popular adventures is GearUp 4x4 which sees beginners and advanced drivers take on the escape routes and mountain views before finding a spot for a picnic. If you prefer your horse power on four legs, sign up for horse riding at the Imhoff Equestrian Centre and enjoy guided bush tours and horseback riding along the shores of Noordhoek beach. These adventure experiences are the best ways to take in the surrounding views of Chapmans Peak and Hout Bay.

Higgeldy Piggeldy Farmyard has a range of farm animals for the kids to engage with and learn about. The venue hosts kids' parties and is sure to delight the young ones with the opportunity to pet some friendly sheep, rabbits, cows and other animals.
