Seeff Umhlanga and Umdloti Kwikspar have teamed up to host various community events during 2021. This kicked off with a Saturday Sizzle Event and was followed up with an Umdloti Beach Clean-Up event on Saturday, the 6th of March from 6am until 9am.
Approval from the local council as well as a donation of bags have been received, says Brett Botsis, licensee for Seeff Umhlanga.
Umhlanga and Umdloti are two gems of the KZN coastline and, Botsis says that Seeff aims to contribute to preserving its pristine beaches by getting involved through beach clean-up events.
Seeff Umhlanga has been actively involved in organising localised community projects and events, providing the opportunity to pay tribute to local businesses and key players of the community while at the same time assisting vulnerable communities where possible.
Kwikspar will be donating food parcels consisting of staple food items which the Seeff team will be donating to one of the local orphanages and will also provide a hamper to a winner of the beach clean-up event.
As part of the Saturday Sizzle events, the first 100 Umdloti Kwikspar customers who spent more than R100 were treated to a free boerie roll on Saturday, the 27th February and Seeff plans on hosting these events on the last Saturday of every month this year.
Community members are encouraged to come out and support their local businesses, especially during these challenging Covid-times, says Botsis. The beach clean-up is not just making an important contribution to your local area but is a fun outing which also provides a bit of healthy exercise.
