Tokai Forest is a mountain bikers dream with 18 incredible trails ranging from moderate to extreme in difficulty.
The trails range from Snake Eyes with a distance of 176m to the stamina challenging Silvermine Loop with a distance of approximately 9km. The most popular trail is the AM Trail, a downhill singletrack with a berm, gap jump and rock garden. The trail is relatively short at around 250m and will put your nerve and skills to the test, but has proven time and time again to be loads of fun.
If you're looking for a longer and even more exciting ride you can easily combine the Mamba, Snake Eyes, Vasbyt, Your Roots and Fairy Garden trails.
The Tokai MTB trails are incredibly popular and draw many riders on the weekends so be sure to keep an eye out for fellow riders bombing down the various routes.
The trails are perfect to ride throughout the year but you should check whether any trails have been closed in winter due to erosion and surface damage and be aware that the trails are slippery before and after rains.
All route maps are available at the Tokai Arboretum information office.
