As the capital of Limpopo, Polokwane is a major economic centre in the north of South Africa, with relatively close proximity to the Kruger National Park, as well as to the borders of Botswana and Zimbabwe. Formerly known as Pietersburg, it is a town known to provide a spectacular showcase of jacaranda and coral trees in springtime.
