The Copperleaf Golf and Country Estate is one of Gauteng's premier golfing Estates and is home to the first Ernie Els signature golf course in Gauteng. The Estate is situated on Ernie Els' grandfather's farm (Oupa Vermaak), Knoppieslaagte with unparalleled views of the Magaliesberg Mountains. The farm was originally purchased by the great grandfather in 1917 and was 690 ha in extent. Work on the Estate began in 2004, and the golf course was opened on 25 November 2007.
