Illovo Beach is a five minute drive and Illovo Nursery and the Terrace Beer Garden are across the street for brunch or sundowner drinks. The home itself is organized as a spacious 2 bed / 2.5 bath home with two separate 1 bed / 1 bath flatlets with their own entrances. The air-conditioned living area has a spacious kitchen open to a large living room which in turn opens out to an enclosed entertainment patio with built-in braai and sliding windows overlooking the cane fields. The air-conditioned main bedroom has sliding doors onto the patio with cane field views. The en suite bathroom has a spa bath as well as a shower. The second bathroom has a shower and toilet.

The third and fourth bedrooms...
There is a bedroom with a shower and toilet on the floor below the main bedroom. It can be accessed from the garden or from a staircase up to the enclosed braai patio. It has its own sliding doors out to a patio overlooking the cane fields.

The other bedroom with shower and bathroom faces the entrance courtyard and driveway. It is just ten meters from the front door to the main house on the same level.

These two bedrooms with their en suite showers are great for teenage or twenty-something youngsters who still eat with the family or eat out. They could be rented out separately as they have their own entrances without going through the main house.

There is a Homeowner's Association that manages the interest of the gated community.

Parking... there is a double garage with electric doors and a double carport.
Garden... the garden is landscaped and there is a small pool to cool off in in the front garden.
Talking about keeping your cool... the home is tiled throughout with air con in all rooms in the main house.
Eskom and load shedding... there is inverter wiring installed in the garage to keep the power on during load shedding. Bring batteries.

Amanzimtoti is a coastal town just south of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. According to local legend, when the Zulu King, Shaka, led his army down the South Coast on a raid against the Pondos in 1828, he rested on the banks of a river. When drinking the water, he exclaimed “Kanti amanzi mtoti” (isiZulu: “So, the water is sweet”). The river came to be known as Amanzimtoti (“Sweet Waters”). The Zulu word for “sweet” is actually mnandi, but, as Shaka’s mother had the name Nandi, he invented the word to replace mnandi out of respect not to wear out her name. Locals frequently refer to the town as “Toti”

The town is well known for its warm climate and numerous beaches, and is a popular tourist destination, particularly with surfers and the annual sardine run attracts many to the beaches.
